Within these categories the Trustees make grants for projects which they judge to have particular merit. Many of their grants are for projects which the Foundation has helped to initiate. It is the policy of the Trustees rigorously to evaluate programmes and projects and carefully to assess when the evaluations should most usefully take place. Generally the Trustees do not make grants in response to unsolicited applications nor to individuals.
