Technology Transfer : Report on Six Pilot Projects
A short report (32 pages) is available that outlines the experiences from six pilot projects funded by the Foundation to improve practical understanding of approaches to technology transfer.
The projects were very different in nature and scale, but all were aimed at achieving financial break even as a minimum goal. Mostly these pilots were successful, as judged by the two evaluators Walter Herriott and Bill Wicksteed. Their report contains both cautionary tales and examples of good practice that should be of interest both to individual universities and to public bodies keen to promote linkages between the research community and the business world.
