New data provides further evidence that T-levels offer a range of destinations

  • 10th Apr 2026

T-levels continue to demonstrate a high rate of positive progression to education, employment, and training, according to research released today. A new report from research consultancy RCU shares further insights into T-level student destinations:

Data was collected for 2,706 students, just over a third (36%) of the overall cohort. Key headlines include:

  • 91% of students progressed to education, employment or training following their T-level
  • 89% of students progressed to employment, higher education, or an apprenticeship
  • 43% of students progressed to higher education (levels 4-6)
  • 28% of students progressed to employment
  • 16% of students progressed to apprenticeships, including degree apprenticeships

This report follows the progress of T-level students who completed their qualifications in 2024 and includes for the first time T-levels in Engineering and Manufacturing, Management and Administration, and Finance and Accounting, introduced in 2022. The research builds on previous reports exploring destinations for the first and second cohorts of T-level students. Together these evidence the range of destinations to which T-level students progress.

“This annual survey of student destinations gives insights for students, parents, and providers, demonstrating the range of paths that T-levels lead to across apprenticeships, further study, or directly into employment – which for some students is with the same employer who hosted their 45-day industry placement.

“We are extremely grateful to the many providers who have collaborated with us on this research, sharing the great outcomes for their students. Once again, this shows that T-levels   are effective in equipping students to make the transition to their next career step.”
