Gatsby’s Technical Education Networks Programme (TEN) has launched the first set of teaching materials to support delivery of the T-levels in Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care on its website www.technicaleducationnetworks.org.uk.
Launched in 2023 with research and a suite of Digital resources, the TEN programme is designed to bridge the gap between industry and the classroom by supporting technical education teachers to deliver an engaging and enriched curriculum. Resources are now available across Digital, Construction, Engineering and Manufacturing, Health and Science, and Agriculture.
The programme draws on the expertise of T-level teachers, employers, awarding bodies and professional organisations. TEN uses insight from these groups to commission research, develop free teaching materials, and host events to support subject-specific pedagogy and sharing of practice through communities of practice, employers and industry professionals.
The first set of Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care teaching materials to be launched supports teachers delivering the core content across T-levels in Agriculture, Land Management and Production, and Animal Care and Management. These resources have been created with a range of contributors – Stanwell Pet Styling, Frog Lane Flower Farm and Chester Zoo and includes seven resources in a range of formats from industry films, worksheets, slide decks and study questions.
Charlie Moss, Head of FE Curriculum Support at Gatsby and TEN Lead said:
“We hope these new teaching materials for Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care T Levels will give teachers practical, engaging ways to bring learning to life. By drawing on insights and experiences from a wide range of contributors, the resources are designed to help students apply their learning in meaningful real-world contexts.”
Sarah Chamberlain, Technical Advisor at City and Guilds added:
“We’re delighted that these new teaching resources are now published. City & Guilds has been proud to support their development, and we hope they provide valuable, practical guidance to T Level teachers, enabling them to deliver the Common Core with confidence and impact.”
Sarah and Margie from Frog Lane Flower Farm added:
“Everything flowed quite naturally. We are delighted (and rather proud) with the finished film. Overall, it was a really positive experience.”
Further resources to support teachers of Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care T-levels will be available in June 2026, with work in other routes including Business and Administration, Education and Early Years, Legal, Finance and Accounting and Sales, Marketing and Procurement already underway.
