Background
We have developed some of the world’s leading institutes for neuroscience research and education
Our developments include the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit and the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, which together are the focus of our long-term neuroscience research funding in the UK. Solving the mystery that is the brain is a vast project and effective collaboration between scientists will accelerate the discoveries that are ready to be made. Creating dedicated buildings for neuroscience research can enhance interactions, and provide a common focus for scientists, students and faculty members.

Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit
The Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit (GCNU) enables researchers to leverage theoretical neuroscience and machine learning to develop sound models of the way that the brain computes.

Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour
We partnered with Wellcome to establish a new neuroscience research institute. Here scientists are using state-of-the-art techniques and theoretical models to investigate how circuits in the brain process information to create neural representations and guide behaviour.
