What I do

My role is to lead the delivery of our HR related projects across all sector programmes in Tanzania and Kenya. I assess business challenges, consider viable options for addressing them, and deliver solutions based on solid business acumen, best fit, cultural sensitivities and pragmatism. I am keen to continue driving a great people strategy, which inspires creativity and allows ‘Gatsbians’ to enhance and sustain high performance.

What motivates me

A company that wants more for itself and therefore expects more from its employees. Also, a sense of urgency, because I value my time and I feel like I should be solving problems that are so interesting that I just can’t stop thinking about them. If I am doing that then I know I am growing. Gatsby’s high ambition challenges us to think creatively about change; it keeps us up at night.

My Path to Gatsby

I was previously an independent HR consultant for three years, for both international corporates and non-profits in Tanzania. Prior to that, I was the Head of HR of a UK-based tower company in Dar es Salaam. I am a qualified Senior HR Professional with a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of Wooster, Ohio.
