In December 2014 we submitted a response to Ofqual's consultation on the assessment of practical work in GCSE science. Our submission from page 32 may be read here.
This policy note was written to support decisions about the assessment of science practical work in English schools. It is particularly concerned with GCSE assessment, given the timescale for developments at that level.
Our earlier policy note makes the case for a combination of direct and indirect assessment of practical work in science GCSE. This addendum develops further how the system could work in practice.
