On Friday 27th September the Gatsby Foundation, in collaboration with The Careers & Enterprise Company, hosted the Careers Excellence Awards 2019 at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London.

The Awards helped shine a light on the excellent work being done across England in careers education and guidance, with categories for schools and colleges, businesses, volunteers, Local Enterprise Partnerships and careers providers.

Sir John Holman, senior adviser to Gatsby and author of Good Career Guidance, chaired the judging panel to select the winners from a competitive field of nearly 200 applications. 

The winners of this year’s awards were:

Careers Hub of the Year - Lancashire Careers Hub

Careers Leader of the Year - Philippa Hartley, Huntcliff School (Lincolnshire) 

Careers Provider of the Year - The Wow Show 

Enterprise Adviser of the Year - Anna Smith, A Logical Ltd

Innovation of the Year - The Education Alliance (Multi-academy Trust, Humber)

Large Employer of the Year - Arm Ltd (Cambridgeshire)

Partnership of the Year - ZSL Whipsnade Zoo with The Avenue Centre for Education (Bedfordshire)

Progress from a School or College
College winner - Westminster Kingsway College (London)
School winner - St Damien’s RC Science College (Greater Manchester)

School or College of the Year - Bedford Academy (Bedfordshire)

SEND Champion of the Year - Catcote Academy (Tees Valley)

Small or Medium Employer of the Year - Cloudy Group Ltd (Buckinghamshire Thames Valley)
